H & M Fifth Avenue

Clever, creative, deliberate, fun, fashion, that's what this store gives you in their windows AND, if that don't make you want to go into this store and shop nothing will.   BRAVO H & M.....GREAT WINDOWS....GREAT PRESENTATION....GREAT VISUAL STAFF THAT KNOWS HOW TO MAKE A LASTING VISUAL PRESENTATION..........

Bloomingdale's Lexington Avenue

Killer styling on the mannequins in these Vince windows......otherwise.....does anybody have a match to light this pile of  firewood to ignite this bonfire of the bad windows???
UGHHHHHHH.......how pedestrian...how boring...how uninteresting...but wait, maybe they intentionally created ugly windows so we would pay attention to the clothes....ok...I'll...ugh... give that to them.  Although I can't imagine anyone wanting to take credit for the planning or execution of these windows...a first time trimmer could create these in their sleep....it's 90 degrees here in NYC and we get it that the clothes are for Fall....but the tired and tacky mix of semi-gloss and flat painted driftwood creates what message???  Come on Bloomingdale's you are much better than this!!!

Ann Taylor Madison Avenue

In my opinion, when you have hundreds of stores across the country you have a responsibility to your customers and everyone who sees your stores.  I came upon these windows last night and wanted to barf immediately.  Not only is their message lame, and the window presentation flat, uninteresting and just plain out unimaginative.  And yes, take a close look, those are necklaces they have draped on the Magnolia that are in the vases....This is a no-way, no-how, never, never thing to do on any level of visual presentation.  And to top it off the copy on the windows....LEOPARD...A BOLD and BEAUTIFUL nod to our heritage....
Can anyone tell me just what in the world that statement means????

Bloomingdales 60th. Street & Lexington

Gowns, Glamour and chipped Mirrored Balls......how simple....effective.....yet so predictable.....but, I must say I really expected more from Bloomingdale's.  Don't get me wrong I don't just bash Bloomingdale's but....this store should be better than this (what happened to the days of Candy Pratt}?.....Bloomingdale's is world renowned.  Kings, Queens (Royal ones and non-Royal), Presidents and dignitaries from around the globe have visited this very store.....This is a New York institution like the Plaza Hotel....er...well,.. now that's not a good example.. look what happened to that place....can you say Viva Las Vegas???
I'm waiting for Bloomingdale's to step up to the plate and get their best Creativity game on!!!

Calvin Klein Madison Avenue

Cool, sleek and modern minimalism at it's best!!  This is a Great Window.  Clean simple design from the acrylic rods and hangars the clothes are hanging from to the lighting that casts a dramatic shadow onto the wall and the perfect shoes.  This window is an A+ in my book. What great use of negative space.  A Designer/Company who knows who their customer is and presents it beautifully every time.....Thank you Francisco Costa for "keeping it simple and sexy"....Bonito!!

Barney's Madison Avenue

Barney's does the best men's fashion windows in this City in my book.....they create a clear fashion statement without the bells and whistles that can gunk up great merchandise in an over propped window....yes, there is a lot of merchandise in the windows but, you can see everything and it all makes sense from head to toe.  The forms are animated just enough to create a sophisticated and well dressed mans' attitude.  Very nice!!

Bloomingdale's Third Avenue

This is a sign I have been waiting to see for a long, long, long time.....I will hold my critical tongue that has bashed and banished these windows in the past only to friends and anyone else who would listen....I will wait with an open mind and heart, and of course my keen sense of "what sucks, and what doesn't".....Good Luck!!

Etro Madison Avenue

Finally, Fall has arrived at Etro.....and Fall fashions are what Etro does best....but these dated mannequins just kill the look....they need to use a more updated presentation instead of whatever the clothes, we dress these poor old outdated mannequins.....come on....use a classic form or at least create a non-descript hanger unit that can show the clothes and accessories in a more modern approach while still incorporating a back drop or prop.
What has happened to Creativity????  And what's with that handbag smashed under her arm shes not holding??

Barney's Madison Avenue

I am a huge fan of Barney's (Simon Doonan) and the creative staff....however I am a little disturbed by this lack of presentation and unfabulousness displayed in this window (in fact a dear friend texted me to make sure that I saw this window). I know it is Summer and those windows are a b***h to work in during this heat but come on....your the BEST....who dropped the ball on this one????

Cole Haan 5th. Avenue

Alright....Cole Haan does some pretty cool presentations....those front windows can't be easy.....simple yet direct presentation....kind of an ease into Fall look....love the drift wood with the framed river rocks.....I think it needs a bit of a kick to give it more sophisticated look....

Banana Republic 5th. Avenue

I am afraid we have a tie for whose windows can bore and put to sleep anyone who views them....yes, good ole Banana Republic.....for all those years in business one would think that they could come up with something a little more exciting than this.... could it be a Back to School theme??...not only is the presentation flat and boring (safe) the clothes are dreadful (safe) and be sure to check out the accessory windows.....oh god...so BR sells books now...maybe the same person who did the YSL accessory windows did these too!!
Dear Banana Republic....look up the definition for IMAGINATION.....sorry but you guys really need to work on that.

Faconnable 5th. Avenue

Attention all Insomniacs.....end your troubles about not getting enough sleep.....march on over to Faconnable, take a look at their windows and if they don't put you to sleep nothing will!!!!

Anne Fontaine Rockefeller Center Promenade

Well what can I say?  Flat, Awful and out and out boring.....This company is known for beautiful blouses.  Did someone not tell Anne that this store is located in probably the most highly trafficked spot in the City??? And is directly across the street from Saks Fifth Avenue.... Maybe they want to keep this store a secret....
Anne, help to beautify New York and bring some beauty where there isn't any....

Salvatore Ferragamo 5th. Avenue

Now I love Ferragamo....but these windows are just too boring, flat and just uninteresting.....they appear to be more about the props than the merchandise.

Ermenegildo Zegna 5th. Avenue

Now.....here is a company who knows who they are, and knows who their customer is.....I love these windows....one of the best on 5th. Avenue.

Just Cavali 5th. Avenue

Just put the mannequins anywhere by the window.....it doesn't matter...turn them....lean them...just make em stand or just sit her on anything....
Ughhhh....these poor mannequins could not have been more abused....what is this mess???

Fab clothes but what a poor representation!!!!
Come on!!! Your on 5th. Avenue.....

St. John 5th. Avenue

Poor St. John....working every angle to stay updated for a younger audience, yet they are using mannequins from the 80's.  I think everyone can see just how outdated these poor girls are....fabulous girls no doubt if you own them and your a little boutique but, come on St. John your a big corporation.....update with some new mannequins and yes new wigs too....and complete the circle of retail life and make your "Update" package one with the consumer and all who view your store.

Nine West 5th.Avenue

I just like this graphic of the shoes.....it's probably the most creative thing this company has done in a long long time.....everything else about the window sucks....

Fendi 5th. Avenue

I call these windows Chains of Fools...leaning mannequins in the wrong direction, and I love the mannequin with the leg up....she is suppose to lean against a wall....Mannequins were modeled after real people....treat them as if they were alive and pose them correctly....and for those chains???  Your guess is as good as mine....BORINGGGGGG  What happened to Fendi???

Tommy Hilfiger 5th. Avenue

Don't adjust your monitor, and no the windows aren't that dirty....someone thought it would be clever to put a film onto the window to make it appear that the mannequins were underwater.....Who thought this was a good idea....Tommy Hilfiger is on a come-back but his windows sure aren't....Attn: All visual merchandisers apply today....please help Tommy!!!

Armani 5th Avenue or A5A

Clean, crisp and concise.  This mega Armani complex is just that.  It is filled with just everything Armani....This is entertainment....a multi layered visual experience....

Henri Bendel 5th. Avenue

Tucci Di Capri....Custom made sandals done right in the window.  The bundles of bands above represent the embossed leather straps used to make the sandals.....Bravo
